There is a wonderful wave of lo-fi music coming from America at the moment, Wavves, Women, Health, Best Coast, Black Lips.. all making sounds so raw, experimental and gritty but inviting and playful at the same time. Music to watch the sunset by, go surfing to or be included in a soundtrack to a Gus Van Sant film and Girls are no different, in fact they perfectly epitomize this new/old movement.

With support from English indie-punk heads the Swanton Bombs this is one of the gigs of the month without a doubt.
