Another superb electronic indie mix from London town. We Have Band champion the cocktail or male and female vocals, slightly out of tune melodies, twangy geeeetars and nicely programed beats. Think along the lines of Metronomy, Chew Lips and an eerie-er Hot Chip and you’ll get what we mean. Great stuff.

Nice to see some live music back at the Trouw. This time round brilliant pop-indie outfit Little Dragon take to the stage with their wonderful emotive synth-disco numbers. If you like Chew Lips, The Knife, Zero 7 or We Are Enfant Terrible (some of Amsterdam Event Guide’s favourite bands) then you’ll love these guys, no question.

Back in April when Amsterdam Event Guide was still being born and most of Holland was dressed in orange and celebrating the Queen’s Birthday; we caught up with electro-pop sensation and aptly named Chew Lips who were over for their first Dutch concert at the fantastic London Calling Festival.

Sitting in the delightfully sunny and beautiful Vondel Park, Long Live Rock and Roll’s Owen spoke to the London trio about music, beer bikes, utopian dreams of the future and fighting moves.

The French label Kitsune have another uber chic Parisian act on their books called Appaloosa and if you are familiar with the production of other Kitsune bands like Chew Lips, Digitalism, Cazals, Phoenix.. oh the list goes on, then you’ll like this one too. A bit more chilled and minimal than some of the other roster-ed acts but never the less this French duo will know how to put on a hotter than hot show. Fierce. And in the words of their clothing line (yes they’ve gone into clothes too) if you miss it ‘prepared to be jealous’.
