The Rocket Cinema Festival is back and they have commissioned some great bands and DJs to play along side some of the best cult-film classics! It’s going to be a scream!

Titles and their new soundtracks include:

The Blair Witch Project – Carl Craig

King Kong vs Godzilla – The Anacondas

La Belle et La Bete – Joost van Bellen & Sander Stenger

PICK OF THE WEEK – Frankenstein - zZz

Jaws – Alec Smart

Que Viva Mexico! – Nine Rain

All followed by a Day of the Dead Party at Zonde – Paradiso

Films will be shown at a variety of venues so be sure to check out the website for up to date locations as well as ticket info. Rocket Cinema Festival

Rauw Special: Surkin + Das Glow @ Melkweg

Amsterdam Event Guide is really happy to announce a very special edition of the monthly electronic event Rauw with a DJ-off between up coming talents The Mighty Fools, Melomanics, The Routines and Baskerville to join veteran Joost van Bellen on his international tour ‘The Greatest Rock & Rave Circus’. You can support your favourite and watch them become international superstars in the electronic scene!

Both halls at the Melkweg will be open to host the event making it one pretty huge party. Local DJ resident Wannabe A Star will also be there in the Old Hall alongside French label Institube’s Paris Terror Club tearing up the main room with: Das Glow, Bobmo and internationally renowned Surkin to complete this incredible line-up.

Valitfest @ NDSM Werf

Amsterdam is ignoring the fact it’s a Northern European country and is hosting another outdoor city festival in September, this time of the music variety and we can not wait!

VALTIFEST brings together up coming and big name DJs and bands from the Netherland’s and abroad. With an emphasis on street fashion as well as art, this is a multi-cultural mix of genres, styles and music is here for only one so be sure not to miss it.

Line-up includes: Erol Alkan, Boemklatsch, Cinnaman, Danny Rampling, Dans le Rock, De Vinnie, Donnie and Sjakie Show, DJ Kutz, Glimmers, Henzel & Disco Nova, Joost van Bellen (25th Anniversary set), Major Lazer, Nid & Sancy, Plastician, Dio & The Madd vs Nobody Beats the Drum, Tom Trago …. to name but a few
Gates open at 12.00 and close at 23.00. A ticket will cost 45 euros pre-sale, 55 on the door. Tickets can be bought from the website or at Free Record Shops.

Don’t forget to dress up!!!

(Note – The last time we saw ‘ol Erol Alkan, he was playing music with so much bass it blew the power to the whole 6,00 people tent, twice.. now that’s pretty impressive. Boom boom boom)

Ed Bangers Records are out in force at this showcase with some of the finest techno/electro acts out there. Just check out this line-up for the aptly named Super Rauw event at this years Amsterdam Dance Event:

Italian electronic masterminds Crookers (or DJ Bot and DJ Phra) as they are called by…some other people. Their booth tonight is shared by Slasmalsklubben, Thunderheist, Joost van Bellen and more. It’s the last night of the festival so let’s make it a good one… this is what sick days are made for.
