What a find. One of those magical moments of Myspace (yes we still use it, no we don’t know how to use Last.fm) trawling and we found these delightful guys, Royal Bangs. Grungy yet melodic, poppy yet intricate and interesting. It’s music that should’ve played throughout your teenage loves and losses, neh.. even soundtracking your walk down the street; it would definitely put a skip in your step.

If that made no sense, then think similar to frenchies Phoenix with their catchy as hell melodies but with distortion vocals and heavier guitars.

The French label Kitsune have another uber chic Parisian act on their books called Appaloosa and if you are familiar with the production of other Kitsune bands like Chew Lips, Digitalism, Cazals, Phoenix.. oh the list goes on, then you’ll like this one too. A bit more chilled and minimal than some of the other roster-ed acts but never the less this French duo will know how to put on a hotter than hot show. Fierce. And in the words of their clothing line (yes they’ve gone into clothes too) if you miss it ‘prepared to be jealous’.
