Back for their third Paradiso show, promoting their seminal debut album and selling out the small hall to breaking point The XX seem to have made it, big time. We were there to capture the London based quartet as they delighted a mesmorised audience with their dark-pop and effortlessly sexy music.

Now with their highly acclaimed debut album out on the shelves, The XX are drawing in huge crowds and the whole gigs gone and sold out. This is what we had to say about them back then:

‘As the band came on stage, the fashion of lead singers Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim made us consider getting out the scissors, sporting a crew cut and dressing all in black. We were completely engaged in the scene on stage, their intriguing look and nonchalant gazes added to the complete absorbing aesthetic of the group. ‘Teardrops’ was simply beautiful, Romy’s husky, sultry voice carried the words through a noisy crowd, everyone stood back in awe and knew we were witnessing something special.’
